hi there, i m an ameteur hobbyist just like u and i have been following your snapshots on Flickr for a while now. u do take some very nice pictures. My subjects are usually all about airplanes and airports, as i am an aviation enthusiast as well.
i currently live in Australia and i had a quick question for u…what camera do u use..what make and model? I have a Nikon DSLR D40x and a couple of lens like the fantastic Nikon AF-S 70-300mm VR zoom, 18-55mm and 12-24mm. wud luv to know the kind of equipment and lens u use…
the reason i ask is becoz your picture quality is great and i m thinking of upgrading my camera this year (though the D40x is wonderful), to a semi-pro. And so i was just interested to know what camera u use.

i am glad that u liked my works. and also, it’s great to know about u too … presently i am using Canon EOS 400D with Canon ef-s 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, Canon ef-s 55-250mm f4-5.6 IS, Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 and Canon ef 50mm f/1.8 MK II.
I choosed this body over D40x because the features 400D have is of the same level of nikons D80, and also the lens versatility for canon bodies. have plan to upgrade the body within next two years.
If you are upgrading to semi pro. please consider Nikon D300. It’s a great body with most powerful Expeed processor. you can also consider upgrading to a full frame body (e.g: Nikon D3). if you have flickr account. you can add me as contact to keep in touch… it’s always worth to be with photographers. i can also learn something new from you …

good to hear from u. that was a very prompt reply 🙂 btw, i see on your profile that u work for GrameenPhone. i used to work for them back in 2000-2001. do they still have their headquarters in Gulshan? those were the good old days…when grameen was just about firing up in BD.
anyway, thnx for sharing your camera info. when i was buying my D40x, the EOS 400D was my other choice, but for some reason i always had a soft corner for Nikon. Yeah i will probably upgrade to a D300 or even a D200. I know the D200 is old now but i hear its still a great semi-pro, better than the newer D300 in some situations. I dont have the budget for a Full-frame at this time so no D3 😦 instead i prefer to invest on Lens.
A great photographer friend of mine once told me “its not the camera body that makes great pictures, but good Lens, and ofcourse creativity (which u seem to have plenty of)”. don’t u agree? and i m never too fussed about the Megapixel rat race either. A friend of mine has a D40 which is 6MP but theres hardly any difference in picture quality between D40 and D40x (unless u plan to blow the picture poster size).
i dont have a FLICKR account at the moment. i post most of my pics on www. airliners.net but yeah, i m thinking of getting a FLICKR account soon. but if u like, we can stay in touch thru email: akid.ahmed@yahoo.com
